Some Winter Birds near My Home, 28 January 2014

This male Yellow-bellied Sapsucker was in the woods near our house eating berries and then flying to a nearby tree trunk. He would repeat the procedure several times while I watched.

This male Rufous-sided Towhee found some leaves to scratch through near the frozen Lake Elkhorn.

    Lovely images! I just saw a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker today as well, Beautiful bird. Haven’t seen Robins yet but we usually see the mid February on there reture. Thanks for sharing your post, Michael 🙂
