Pileated Woodpecker and Mallards at Forebay Pond, 21 November 2013


One Pileated Woodpecker has been hanging around our home area this fall.  Previously I would rarely see the species since there are no large wooded areas that they usually require for breeding.

Another view of the Pileated. The bird was still working the tree bark when I left.
