I like Sleepy Orange butterflies

One of my favorite butterflies at Blandair Park in Howard County on 14 October 2013. Brilliant orange in flight—you can get a hint of the color on the forewing here in the photo above.

Another Sleepy Orange near Taneytown, 2 September 2013

This Sleepy Orange was found near the Pennsylvania border in Carroll County which is close to the range limit for these southern butterflies. 2013 has been a good year for them in Maryland.

This Sleepy Orange was caught in flight in the flower gardens at the Robinson Nature Center in Columbia, Maryland.
